Surfaced Elm Board, Character Grade, 15/16" x 5½" x 43" (EL-003)

This is the exact board you'll receive. One piece of elm, surfaced on both faces and straight-lined on both edges, so it's ready to go straight to your project. The front is anchored by a long, graceful cathedral running through the middle of the board, with a line of pin knots tracing along one edge like stitching. The back has its own cathedral, plus a dark knot along one edge, a cluster of pin knots near one end, and a few small checks that add to its rustic look.

Boards like this are perfect for small furniture parts, shelves, boxes, cutting boards, picture frames, or anything where you want the wood to do some of the talking. Elm's interlocked grain makes it tough and resistant to splitting, though it'll keep your planer blades honest, so sharp tools are your friend.
