Surfaced Ash Board, 15/16" x 6¼" x 41¾" (AS-004)

This is the exact board you'll receive. One piece of ash, surfaced on both faces and straight-lined on both edges, so it's ready to go straight to your project. The front is a parade of bold cathedral arches marching down the length of the board, with a splash of dark heartwood at one end and a small swirling knot near the other. The back is pure classic ash, with big, crisp cathedrals stacked edge to edge and clean, open grain throughout.

Ash is strong, springy, and shock-resistant, which is why it's long been the choice for tool handles, baseball bats, and chair parts. It works well with hand and power tools, takes stain evenly, and its light, creamy color makes a great backdrop for that dramatic grain. At over 6" wide, it's a great fit for shelves, serving boards, box parts, and frames.
