Surfaced Ash Board, 15/16" x 6¾" x 41½" (AS-003)

This is the exact board you'll receive. One piece of ash, surfaced on both faces and straight-lined on both edges, so it's ready to go straight to your project. One face is the showpiece, with a dramatic ribbon of dark brown heartwood sweeping through the center of the board and swirling into bold cathedrals at both ends against creamy ash on either side. Not every ash board has that dark heart, and it gives this one real contrast. The other face is classic ash, with stacked cathedral arches through the middle, straight grain along the edges, and a touch of gray streaking near each end.

Ash is strong, springy, and shock-resistant, which is why it's long been the choice for tool handles, baseball bats, and chair parts. It works well with hand and power tools and takes a finish beautifully. A clear oil finish will make that dark heartwood pop. At nearly 7" wide, this board is a great fit for serving boards, box lids, accent panels, or a shelf that'll get noticed.
