This is the exact board you'll receive. One piece of black walnut, surfaced on both faces and straight-lined on both edges, so it's ready to go straight to your project. The front shows off big, bold cathedral arches at both ends, with rich chocolate tones shifting to warmer browns through the middle and a single small knot along one edge. The back is a little quieter, with long flowing grain, a cathedral at one end, and one small pin knot.

Walnut is the wood a lot of makers save for their best work, and it's easy to see why. It machines cleanly, takes a finish like a dream, and that deep color only gets richer with oil.
