This is the exact board you'll receive. One piece of ash, surfaced on both faces and straight-lined on both edges, so it's ready to go straight to your project. Ash is all about bold, open grain, and this board shows it off. The front has long, crisp straight lines along the edges framing stacked cathedral arches through the middle, with a single small pin knot. The back carries its own big cathedral and a soft gray streak near one end for a bit of contrast.

Ash is strong, springy, and shock-resistant, which is why it's long been the choice for tool handles, baseball bats, and chair parts. It works well with hand and power tools, takes stain evenly, and its light, creamy color makes a great backdrop for that dramatic grain.
